I'm not so focused on the interracial aspects. You can't help whom you fall in love with. What upsets me is when the Korean person goes out of his or her way to appear "white" (i.e. dresses skankily or has blatant body tats) and doesn't acknowledge his or her Korean heritage at all or if the Korean is obviously the unequal partner and treated poorly by the white person. What I don't get is when the Korean is some model-like female, and the BF is some fat redneck slob with little education.

What about Chinese girl and Korean boy or Korean girl with Chinese boy?

Same thing?

I would see nothing of it. I find it pleasantly surprising cuz it kind of shows how different races get along now.

I have nothing against to Korean girls dating some foreigners besides it was their choice.

I just hope these Korean realize what they're getting into.

^^ agreed. I think that anyone getting into a 'mixed-culture marriage' should really try to think long and hard about what they're getting themselves into.

When it comes to those marriages in the West, or even amongst those living in Korea, I'm not really all too worried. But when thinking of agencies and such - where people only know each other for a day before they choose - then I worry.

If I say Japanese, you'd be asking me why I'm fixating on Japanese...

I don't harbor anything against Chinese people if that is what you are trying to assume. Since there are so much issues among Asian countries, I was wondering if might be a different reaction to it.

The reason I asked is that you have a tendency to bring China into non-Chinese related posts. If you said Japanese, I wouldn't say that because you haven't talked much about them. Far from harboring anything against Chinese people, I actually think you have a bias for them.

I think we have tendency to focus on Korean girls dating white boys but even Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thais and Filipino girls are dating white boys. Even them rather choose white boys over any other race. why? This is because of media portrays White man as 'Real man' and paint Asian men as weak and dorky.

I would also blames these Chinese and Japanese men for being less masculine and they all sound like gays. It's only Korean men trying to break away from this stereotyping.

Just to be clear though... you mean 'American' or 'Westen' media, right?

Because, I live in Korea, and I don't feel that the media here is saturated with White men.

I may have a bias toward them. Having some close Taiwanese friends probably have a bit of an influence. I definitely do not like the Chinese government and what they do, even if I don't know EVERYTHING about them.

But I did not intend to try to place China in bad light in this thread. I like most Chinese people where I am but there are the few nationalists that tick me off. It's hard for me to distinguish the people and the gov't because what Chinese and China do correlate with each other on this forum. I thought I was doing pretty well until you pointed that out.

And besides, the Chinese-related topics far outnumber Japanese topics on this forum, and I can't help but comment in similar proportions.

Well, I don't think any of those Asian men care about stereotypes. They are just following their culture. They live in Asia, so are not affected so much by Western media. Korean culture breeds an aggressiveness in men, so that's why they are not wimpy. As far as Japanese guys, I really don't think they are that feminine. They certainly are the most refined and sophisticated in appearance of all East Asian men. The men can be quite dashing. What's great about Korean guys is that they have a warmth and charisma that is sexy. Korean culture breeds that dynamism. Chinese guys can be cute, but I think their culture is too gentle to create ultra-masculine guys. If there are masculine ones, it's due to their individual nature and not their culture. The most masculine ones I've seen are just okay in terms of masculinity. But a lot of Chinese American men tend to be more masculine. Chinese culture emphasizes harmony and that is nice, but not sexy.

Culture does affect one's appearance. If you place a child to be raised in a South American country, they are most likely going to end up sexier than if they stayed in China or Japan or America. As far as Korean people, we are pretty sexy as it is. However, it would be a different kind of sexiness if a Korean child was raised in South America. More raunchy. I have seen pictures of Korean women raised in China and Japan and I am not impressed. But maybe there are sexy ones, who knows?

^^When I went to China last year for 산행, I couldn't distinguish the Joseonjok or Korean-Chinese from the (Han) Chinese at all. Everything the Chinese eat are drenched in oil or fat, which makes them have this oily complexion. That in turn clogs up pores thus making them really grimy and overall just dirty looking. Did I mention Chinese people don't wash their hair? It's always fcuking greasy for some reason. Southern features pretty much dominates in the North as well (it's impossible to find Korean looking Chinese people) Add to that, unfortunate facial features make the Chinese an overall unattractive group of people. Some of you know me as incredibly anti-China but what I'm writing is not an exaggeration. It's the honest truth. Anybody who has traveled through China will tell you the same.

It's definitely something in the culture/food that makes them look how they do. Case in point, the Zainichi Koreans.
